Based in Cuba, Next Green is a company making green, no emissions, hybrid-electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) passenger aircraft for Urban Air Mobility (UAM). The company’s first aircraft model was designed in 2003 but without a clean energy source. The company also can’t use today’s batteries to power the aircraft with the range and speed they need for the aircraft.

The Xcar Cuba is a four passenger autonomous VTOL aircraft that uses a modular design which includes the propulsion unit, the fuselage and the canopy. The aircraft has excellent visibility for its passengers with an entire canopy over the interior and with a see-through floor. The passengers enter and exit through the rear of the aircraft.

The Xcar Cuba is a modular design which includes:

  • Canopy (over the interior)
  • Fuselage
  • Propulsion system

The aircraft has a large interior which has swivel seating. Passengers can position the seating to face forward during flight or the seats can be turned facing a round table in the center of the interior, for a cafe-style (or meeting) type of seating arrangement.

For its power source, the company has developed it’s own biofuel in 2017 called a Composed Green Fuel (CGF). This allows the aircraft to have plenty of power for high-speeds and a long range for its passengers without producing green house gases. Two substances are mixed inside the turbo-fan to created the propulsion for the aircraft. The propulsion unit has four small turbo-fans which tilt for VTOL, forward and reverse flight.

The company has stated its Composed Green Fuel can also be used for cars, trucks, power plants and aviation. Due to this fuel having no emissions, the company foresees this fuel to help the personal health of everyone on the planet. The composed green fuel which is N2, O2 and H20. The result is zero CO2 emissions.

The size of the aircraft allow the passengers to land in a standard parking space, patio, driveway, grassy areas, on a flat roof or any open flat space.

As of December 2021, no information has been provided on when prototypes will be made or when serial production might occur.
